General Conference is the perfect weekend to gather the family and feast upon the words of our living prophets and apostles. Just as Christmas takes time to prepare and plan to be successful, General Conference when prepared ahead of time, your families experience will be unforgettable. My kids love General Conference because of the family traditions and activities that we use year after year.

Why Focus on the Leaders?
Elder Neil L. Andersen once spoke about how we should prepare our kids to listen to the leaders during General Conference.
“I once found myself among a group of deacons [12-13 year-old boys] in the southeastern United States. The subject turned to the Atlanta Braves. The boys knew each of the players on that baseball team. They knew the starting lineup, the home-run leader, the pitcher with the best record, and those on injured reserve. My questions then turned to the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. I asked if the boys knew the names of those Church leaders. Silence. Finally the name of the prophet was spoken. With some encouragement, the last name of one of the counselors in the First Presidency surfaced. No other names were known.
Some might say it is not the leaders who are important, but the message they bring. Yet, if our children do not know the names of the members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, they most likely will not know their messages either. Others might say there are so many General Authorities that our children cannot know them all. However, our focus must rest with those we sustain as prophets, seers, and revelators. While the Church has grown, that number—fifteen—has remained the same.” (Read talk here.)
Join the 15-Day Conference Countdown
To help our children learn who the apostles and prophets are, join our 15-Day General Conference Countdown. Each day we will highlight one of the apostles until we get to General Conference.
We will start with the junior member of the Quorum of the Twelve and work our way up in seniority of the apostles and prophets based on the date they were called into the Quorum of the Twelve. We will start on September 15th with Elder Ulisses Soares and finish the day before General Conference starts with President Russell M. Nelson on Friday, September 29th.
Everyday you will receive a Conference Card (with a QR code to link back to their individual pages with videos and details to use all of the resources), Speaker Bag Tag, Activity to put into your Bag, and Conference Coins. These will be used during General Conference. Before Conference: Play Bingo to learn about the church leaders. Scan code or go to: ttps://bit.ly/3fclwSk. It will go to a Playlist of short 60-second videos of each person on the Bingo card. Click “Shuffle” button and start playing! After you watch video, put one of the circle markers on the person. Keep watching and playing until you get Bingo.
During Conference: Cut out circles on this page. Use them as markers for the Bingo Game. When one of the leaders speak at Conference, find the right name, and put it on top of the Bingo space. Scan the QR code to go to a 60-second video about the leader and other fun resources. To win: try to get 4 across, diagonally, down, corners, or black out. Place the marker that says “Jesus the Christ” over the Savior’s picture when a leader says His name. You can also use LifeSavers, Starburst, or other candy as markers too.
